The Genesis of the Hijri Calendar: Faith, Courage, and Sovereignty

The Islamic calendar did not begin with the birth of a king, the coronation of an empire, or the aftermath of a great war. Instead, its foundation was established upon one of the most transformative events in Islamic history: the Hijrah, the migration of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his followers from Mecca to Madinah.
